THE 2019 Henty Art, Photography & Quilting Exhibition, in its eighth year, drew good crowds including many outside visitors. This event is possible because of the support of the Henty Community Club, Henty Camera Club, The Murray River Quilters and many volunteers. Christine Stanford-Smith, a talented botanical artist, provided an entertaining opening address. Christine is a semi-regular visitor to Henty providing instruction through Henty Active Arts. The entries were of high standard with work exhibited from as far as Broken Hill. There was one clever piece made of balloons that brought to life an underwater scene. Amanda Male and Judy Knobel added the finishing touches with diverse floral pieces. The opening night saw 55 people attend with the finger food covering two tables. The club served their yummy scones; the Henty Evening Branch CWA provided Sunday lunch and the stall holders made an interesting display. The Pleasant Hills Patch workers, Henty Active Arts, Albury/Wodonga Quilting community continue to be great supporters of the exhibition. The 2020 exhibition is already being planned and will be held over the first weekend in April. The 2021 exhibition, being the 10th, was also touched upon in discussions.

FRIDAY night saw the Riverlife Church's "Festival of Possibilities" at Henty's Memorial Park. A good crowd of the district's youth attended. The barbecue carried the scent of food across the town and the music was a good compliment to the other happenings.
