Residents are being urged to have their say on the Lockhart Shire Council Lockhart Business Centre Master Plan Project.
The all encompassing project is not unlike the recent $1 million Henty Streetscape initiative.
Lockhart Shire Council director of engineering David Webb said the aim was to provide an “all access” experience.
He said this would link in with the new swimming pool, which has all access, and the popular Greens Gunyah Museum.
With an aging population the shire was aiming to make it possible for residents to stay in the region for as long as possible.
“The first round of (public) consultation ends on February, 28,” Mr Webb said.
Mr Webb confirmed there was a focus on maintaining the town’s heritage features, including the pavers, and verandahs. The aim was to add to this and provide a “wow” factor for both residents and visitors.
Mr Webb said the shire was active in attracting both new residents and visitors and the upgrades would enhance that.

He said the aim of having “charging stations” for electric cars was being discussed too.
Meanwhile, in the neighbouring Greater Hume Area Henty’s $1 million streetscape was officially celebrated late last year.
Greater Hume Council director of engineering Greg Blackie described the upgrades as a success.
A major part of the town’s project was the installation of new footpaths and curbs and securing verandahs on the shop fronts.
