Prizemoney at the country race meetings will be lifted from January 1 next year.
Races at Sky Two race meetings will be increased from a minimum of $10,000 to $12,000.
Country non-TAB race meetings will race for a minimum of $8000, up from $6000.
Racing NSW said total prizemoney for that sector of racing has increased by 160 per cent from 2012, the highest of any in the state.
““I am delighted that Racing NSW is able to fund these increases which will underpin community racing and ensure that all segments of thoroughbred racing in NSW benefit from increases in our revenues,” Racing NSW chairman Russell Balding AO said.
“Racing is very important in these regional and remote areas and we want to ensure they are viable and continue to provide entertainment and a social outlet for these communities.”
