Again it will be the same opponent, with Wagga making the trip to play at Holbrook Sporting Complex in an attempt to win back the symbol of Riverina cricket supremacy. HDCA snatched the cup in February with a thrilling seven-wicket win.
There are only two changes to the winning side. Experienced TRYC all rounder Todd Hannam comes into the side, along with wily Henty left arm bowler David White, both have plenty of representative experience with the HDCA.
The O’Farrell Cup is one of the longest lasting challenge trophies in Australia with the very first defence happening in 1925 when Wagga played Tarcutta. Holbrook first challenged in 1926 when they ironically defeated Wagga, who then challenged again the following week only to be well beaten.
The second challenge will be from Griffith, while for the first time in over 13 years Albury, under the banner of Cricket Albury Wodonga, will have the third challenge.
The game starts at 10am with both sides having maximum batting overs of 55 each at their disposal.
