On November 9 the township will host a gala event in the evening and the Greater Hume Shire will officially open the new NSW Fire and Rescue Station and outline the rejuvenation of the Craft Shop Railway Precinct.
The main street will be closed off with many events planned including free activities for families and visitors to Henty to join in the celebrations.
There will be:
- Jumping castles,
- Merry-go-round,
- Bucking Bull,
- Youth activities,
- Face painting and more
Craft stalls will line the street during the afternoon and shops will hold a market day, with the official proceedings starting at 4pm.
The evening will have live music commencing at around 6pm and a Fireworks display at 9pm. Families are encouraged to come and share in the community spirit that is Henty.
Greater Hume council has invested more than $1 million dollars on the upgrade and the Bendigo bank has reported it has invested $3.5 million dollars into the Henty and District community since the Bank opened in 1998.
