The Toyota Corolla owned by florist Katrina Dosser at Freckles Flowers Wagga has the store’s name and branding on its side doors.
Ms Dosser said she noticed the vehicle missing when she got to the store this morning before notifying police.
“The car was taken from the store itself – I think anywhere between 5am and 8am,” she said.
“The police have been advised and they’re keeping me updated.
“People are also seeing it and letting us know – we’ve just got to wait for the police to apprehend the person.”
The vehicle is believed to have been travelling south of Wagga towards Victoria, which was also alleged to have stolen fuel from the APCO fuel station in Wangaratta.
“I also spoke to a local fuel station in Wangaratta as fuel was stolen form there,” Ms Dosser said.
Brett Anderson, manager of APCO Wangratta, alleged petrol worth about $55 was stolen by the man driving the vehicle.
“He seemed agitated and was wearing a black hoodie, black track pants and barefoot,” Mr Anderson said.
“We have an alarm that goes off 10 minutes after, so we got the footage and rang police.
“They attended the station and got the footage.”
Mr Anderson said the branding on the vehicle’s sides made it identifiable.
“We initially called the Albury store and they put us onto Katrina,” he said.
At 2.10pm today, Wagga Police Inspector Adrian Telfer said officers were still in the field investigating.
“What we do know is that the vehicle was stolen this morning and has since travelled into Victoria,” Inspector Telfer said.
“We are conversing with our Victorian counterparts, who have sighted the vehicle on a few occasions.
“The vehicle has failed to pay for petrol on two occasions today.
“We are hopeful in identifying the offender soon.”
