The floor of the weight area will need some reinforcing before weights are ordered. This may take a few weeks, but by August, Henty will have a greatly improved fitness facility.
With the school holidays over, Henty will move into the Field Days build-up.
This year promises to be better than ever, with the latest in technology on show from September 18-20.
St Paul’s Lutheran Women’s Fellowship Luncheon on last Sunday was once again a success. The event was held at the Henty Community Club’s Blue Room. Proceeds will support the women’s projects and also Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Trust.
All denominations supported the causes.
Cameras have been temporarily installed outside the Bendigo Bank and opposite Henty Library in Henty’s Main Street. The cameras will monitor traffic movements to assess what is needed when street marking is laid down. The cameras are in place for a few weeks. This is all part of the Main Street upgrade and is a lead-up exercise to the resealing of the street, this being the final stage.
David Smith, well recognised visuality impaired resident, has been saying goodbye to many locals as he heads back to a warmer climate in Cairns.
David has been involved in a number of community groups for the past few years since moving to Henty and is currently the Historical Society’s president. His knowledge and assistance will be missed.
Having spent a week in Brisbane, it was interesting watching the locals rug up for a “freezing” 20 degrees.
