Police are appealing for information following a serious crash in the eastern Riverina.

About 5.45am on Monday, July, 2, emergency services were called to Corowa Road, near the Federation Way, Daysdale after reports a car had rolled and caught alight.
The driver, a 24-year-old man, and his passenger a 23-year-old woman, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for multiple injuries.
The driver was airlifted to Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition, his passenger was also airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Officers from Murray River Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

In a separate incident a truck carrying chickens caught fire on the Hume Highway on Monday morning.
Ben Shepherd of the Rural Fire Service said emergency services were notified of the incident just after 5am and they arrived on scene to find a truck with its back trailer alight.
