At the time columnist John Ebsworth offered acknowledgement to Ken Dale who was awarded Trinity Certificate in Theology and Ministry on May 23. So Ken is able to do the things he has been doing for years “officially”.
Rotary members have recently started cleaning up the reserve of selected fallen timber, not all, working on re-creating the internal paths destroyed in recent floods.
There is work being undertaken with spraying weeds and burning “lost” shrubs. It is hoped that some portion of the paths will be re-gravelled.
There was also some welcome news with roads funding to help in the Lockhart Shire.
The story read: Lockhart Shire’s mayor and general manager have welcomed a $1.8 million cash injection to maintain roads in the region.
Councils in the Wagga state electorate received more than $9.4 million from the Financial Assistance Grants scheme by the Federal Government.
The grant will help to deliver vital services and infrastructure for their communities, such as fixing roads, funding new infrastructure and investing in environmental programs.
The scheme provides funding in two parts – the first is open for councils to use the funding on local priorities and the second is specifically for roads.
Lockhart Shire mayor Rodger Schirmer said any assistance from the government was welcomed.
