The Yerong Creek Hall is set to come to life next month when tennis club in the town puts on a ball.
Guests are encouraged to brave the cool winter weather and help raise some much-needed funds for a popular summer sport.
In fine traditional style the event is set to draw on interest from all of the surrounding townships and beyond in southern NSW.
Guests will be wearing characteristic blue and white outfits and the ball is scheduled to run on July 7 at 7pm.
One of the event’s organisers Sally Hunter, of Yerong Creek, said it was the first ball of its type and the aim was to raise funds for the local tennis club.
She said Yerong Creek Tennis Club players wore the blue and white colours and this theme would carry through for the ball.
Miss Hunter said there weren’t any plans to make the ball an annual event and it was a one off truly unique occasion.
Miss Hunter estimated that the ball was likely to attract up to 200 people if early indications were to be a guide.
There has already been plenty of interest in ticket sales with people securing a spot. And the event has been promoted on social media.
“The aim is to enjoy the night at the hall in Yerong Creek while also raising money for our tennis club,” Miss Hunter told the Eastern Riverina Chronicle.
“Luke Dewing Music will provide entertainment for the night,” she said.
And Michelle Seymour was set to provide canapes for the ‘blue and white’ cocktail event.
The price for the Yerong Creek Tennis Club Blue and White Cocktail Ball is $50 a ticket and people are urged to secure their places soon. For further details and for ticket sales contact Sally Hunter sallyhunter328@gmail.com.
