The event, at The Rock Bowling Club, features the debs and their partners who will be presented to Lockhart Shire Mayor Rodger Schirmer.
One of the event organisers Anne Martin paid tribute to the amount of work the debs and their partners had completed to get ready for the event.
She said it was four years since the town had hosted a ball.
With the support of The Rock Progress Association the tradition was returning to the Riverina town and organisers had already received interest from people who wanted to participate next year.
Mrs Martin said young people were looking for some tradition and she said people who had participated in balls in the past remembered the experience for a life time.
“We are expecting about 185 people,” Mrs Martin said.
And for fellow dancers there will be music provided by The Mighty Yak of Wagga.
“It has been really good to watch them learn a few old time dances,” Mrs Martin said.
“I think this helps to generate wonderful town spirit,” she said.
“We all love to dress up and enjoy a bit of pageantry,” she said.
The debs have been coached by Jo Reynolds and the ball matron is Carol Magrath.
