Flanigan replaced Rob Ash in the role at Riverina League’s most recent Competition Management Committee (CMC) meeting.
Flanigan will oversee Riverina League’s new-look CMC that now boasts nine members.
Flanigan wants the CMC to take a hands-on approach.
“It started out with Ashy and Rod Walsh and it’s got to nine now, which is a fantastic spot to be in,” Flanigan said.
“I want to make sure as a CMC that we’re owning and governing the game ourselves, and having a say in the day-to-day running of the game.”
Flanigan has been involved in the game for many years. He is a former Wagga Tigers president and has been on the Riverina CMC for a few years.
He wants more involvement from clubs and also wants to encourage robust debate when tackling the big issues.
“I want more input from the clubs, I want them to have a say and will encourage robust debate,” he said.
“I want a solid competition that involves the whole Riverina.”
Ash remains on the CMC.
