We had three members attend the Group Handicraft and Land Cookery Day at Ganmain, where we had a very successful day. In the handicrafts, Susan Creek’s free machine embroidery picture won both the big awards - the Champion Piece of Work and the Most Creative Piece.
In the Land Cookery, we also did very well, with the branch awarded second place overall.
We had seven first places, four seconds and four thirds, with Natalie and Louise Hasler being both awarded third places for their efforts in the junior cooking.
Lyn Jacobsen and Margaret Hasler with their first placings now go on to cook for the state judging at conference in early May.
Members were reminded that we are cooking treats for Hilltop Accommodation Centre, so to bring more along. Our next meeting will be at Pleasant Hills on April 11 at 10.30am, and members are to bring along something to share for lunch.
