STAGE two of the renovation works for the Henty Rail Station has commenced. The Doodle Cooma Craft Shop has relocated to the adjacent Book Store in the interim. The work by contractors will encompass the buildings this time, floors included. The premises are now owned by Sydney Trains and the station should be scheduled for a regular maintenance program. The much-needed renovations bring the platform and surrounds up to a suitable standard.

GOOD news from St Paul’s Primary School. Last Friday Micah Lieschke, Jordan Klemke and Susie Male went to Sydney to participate in the RAS (Riverina Association of Schools) team for CIS (Combined Independent Schools) tennis. Senior students were selected as this is the first time the school had participated in the tennis competition during term four, when they traditionally hold a tennis competition at school. Students will be selected from this competition to trial at the next level. Only four boys and four girls can be selected from the nine primary schools in our region to go to CIS level. This year we were lucky that only two schools nominated students and therefore three students from St Paul’s made it to Sydney.

HENTY Men Shed members have recently restored the bench seats for the Henty Public School on behalf of the Henty P&C. Also, cannibalising a couple of old tables donated by the Anglican Church, the boys have created a solid functioning table. To celebrate their effort members signed the top and dates of birth were added with the dates ranging from 1921 to 1992.
