THE Henty and District Historical Society has the funds now available to publish and print a memorial book dedicated to the World War I servicemen of Henty and district. Many of these soldiers may have only been temporary residents of the district but, through their work and commitment, enlisted in Henty, possibly driven by the fervour of the recruitment activities, and have a connection to Henty.

THE new fire station has had the framework delivered and the foundations may well have been poured by the time this story is published. The fire engines will have a drive through facility, no more backing the truck into a confined place. Handover is still expected sometime in May, 2018.

THE public school’s welcome barbecue at the pool was a great success and well supported. This event was hosted by their Year 6 leaders and school P&C. Also, Helena Brown, Ryder Corrigan, Maddison Heanes, Ryan Klemke, Ashton Scholz, Jett Weston and Levi Corrigan will be representing the Southern Riverina at the Riverina Swimming Carnival at the Albury Swim Centre on March 14. Their events are: Ryder Corrigan: 100m free, 11yr 50 free, 11yr 50 breast, 11yr back, 11yr fly; Levi Corrigan: 8yr 50 free, jnr boys relay; Ryan Klemke: jnr 50m breast, jnr boys relay; Helena Brown: snr 50m back; Maddison Heanes: 11yr 50 back, 11yr 50 fly; Ashton Scholz: jnr boys relay and Jett Weston: jnr boys relay.
