THE Country Arts Support Program will help to fund the Lockhart Shire Council’s Water Above All project with a $4000 grant.
Lockhart Shire Council will commission a large-scale mural painting on Lockhart Water Tower - Water Above All - celebrating life and positively adding to the town’s cultural and social fabric. The collaborative project will be undertaken in early 2018 by artist Trina Collins of Poncho Army.
Member for Wagga Daryl Maguire said the grants target the small but important cultural projects in the electorate that are so important for the sense of community engagement in our region.
“I am proud to be part of a government that so actively supports grassroots arts project throughout NSW.”

LOCKHART Vintage Fest and Truck Show will be on March 3. The festival includes a historic truck show, vintage cars, unique shops, craft and produce stalls, food and plenty of bargains at the town garage sales. Held at Lockhart Showground, gates are open from 10:00am to 3:30pm. Entry fee is $5 for adults and free for children under 16 and vehicle exhibitors.
Now in its 10th year, the National Historic Truck and Commercial Vehicle Show is an integral part of the Festival and the stars of our great road transport history again will be on display. This year the show is featuring ‘Transport of the 20th Century’. While the display focuses on all makes and models of vehicles from the 20th Century, modern trucks are invited to exhibit on the day, they prove a great treat. Prizes are on offer for the Oldest Truck; Best Local Farm Truck - any make, any model; and Best Truck prior to 2000. The popular People's Choice Award is also on again this year, with entry forms available at the gate to vote for your favourite vehicle.
