Former mayor Denise Osborne has ruled out another challenge to Cr Meyer for the position.
The deputy mayor position is a one-year term in Greater Hume with mayor Heather Wilton entering a second term in the position before facing an election in 2018.
Cr Wilton and Cr Meyer have occupied the two leadership positions since 2012.
“I think we’ve had a fairly good time in Greater Hume the last few years,” Cr Meyer said.
“We’ve got some things happening.
“We’ve been able to continue as Greater Hume in the face of all the challenges put out there.
“But we’ve been able to get new roads, new swimming pools and new facilities up and running.
“The important things to communities.”

The council has secured funding for upgrades of the Henty and Holbrook pools and the dangerous section of Jingellic Road over the Yarara Gap.
Cr Meyer had almost four decades in charge of the Henty Machinery Field Days before being elected to council in 2012.
The move to two-year mayoral terms was included in the NSW Government's reform of local government and came into effect last year.
Albury elected its mayor Kevin Mack and deputy mayor Amanda Cohn on two-year terms.
Greater Hume was able to escape a merger in the latest round of amalgamations which resulted in Corowa and Urana being joined to form Federation Council.
The first Federation council has been elected and attention has turned to the mayor and deputy mayor battle to be decided on September 26.
Three former mayors are in the running – Fred Longmire and Paul Miegel from Corowa and Pat Bourke from Urana.
Mr Bourke was the only candidate from the former Urana Shire elected, but has confirmed he still wants to be considered for mayor.
