The Gum Swamp Reserve Management Committee has been ‘swamped’ with entries for the photography competition.
Gum Swamp Reserve is a wetland at Walla Walla in southern NSW. It is designated as an area for environmental protection and public recreation.
More than 140 photos were entered in the competition and are up for a share of $1000 in prize money.
The photos will be on display in the Walla Walla Hall Friday, November, 4 from 6pm to 9pm (prize ceremony at 7pm) or Saturday 5 November 9am to 12pm.
“We have been very pleased with the community response to our competition,” said chairwoman Kathie Le Busque.
“The reason we wanted to hold this competition on was to get people out and active in Gum Swamp and I think we have achieved that,” she said.
A local resident recently commented that they had lived here all their life and never visited Gum Swamp.
