JUST months after staving off a merger threat, Lockhart council has ushered in a new general manager.
Former Hume council general manager Peter Veneris will start at Lockhart in the new year, replacing outgoing general manager Rod Shaw.
Mr Veneris, who has family ties to the Lockhart shire, said he was relishing the prospect of starting in the new role.
“I have always enjoyed working with regional and rural communities and am excited about the new challenge,” Mr Veneris said.
