Congratulations to Chelsea Wettern for her efforts in being selected in the Riverina Association of Schools team to try out for the Combined Independent Schools team in netball in Sydney. They played at the Olympic Park Netball Stadium, which is where the NSW Swifts train. On Friday, selected students of St Paul’s will be attending the BIPSA Cross Country carnival in Jindera.

Well done to all Henty Public School’s participants in the Southern Riverina Cross Country with many setting personal best times. The following will proceed to Riverina Cross Country in Gundagai in June: Heidi Martin, Angus White, Molly Murray and Halle Corrigan, in addition to Samuel Male and Nicholas Newton. Nick and Samuel have returned from the tennis State Carnival at Tweed Heads. The Riverina combined boys/girls placed 9th out of 13 teams. Nick said it was a big step up from Riverina to State level while Samuel recommended the experience.

Henty Public School’s first experience of orienteering was a very positive one and the students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the 2016 Riverina Schools Orienteering Championships. Well done Blake Roulston, Harry Doig, Angus White, Ashtyn Quee and Helena Brown who placed in the top three.

Sad news to hear of the passing of Yerong Creek’s Phantom. Alan will be missed by many people in Yerong Creek and Henty and Southern Australia where he was a legend of many shearing sheds.
