
It is good to see some activity in Henty’s main street with two shops being prepared to open for business. This is most encouraging to see a reduction in the number of vacant premises on Sladen Street.

Henty’s skate park continues to attract a growing number of users. Often it is a family affair with parents joining in the fun. The new covered park bench has proven to be a great addition. Monday week ago there were some 80 children enjoying lessons on how to improve their proficiency on board and bike.

Bea Dale celebrated her 70th birthday at Myoora Homestead sounded by her two sons; three granddaughters and her three great granddaughters as well as many other extended family members. The party held on Sunday, Bea’s actual birthday and her butterfly cake looked delectable. Entertainment was supplied by Ronnie Thorne of Culcairn.

Edward Dale has very recently acquired Australia’s last working mustard harvester built by the Sunshine factory in Melbourne. The Sunshine Massey Harris harvester was driven into Henty, under its own power into Henty, on April 17. The machine’s comb was fixed to the machine on the following Monday and forms an important piece in Ed’s collection.

Samantha Bourke attended Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) this year which was held in Orange with 35 others. Sam really appreciated her time there and the guest speakers. RYLA is a premier youth leadership development program designed to promote proactivity, personal and professional development of Australian youth who have already been identified with exceptional leadership potential.
