Thousands gathered in Holbrook at the weekend for the 109th annual race day.
Colourful characters and serious punters were in attendance and fashions on the field entrants turned some heads.
A seventh race was added to the card to accommodate the number of horses and trainers in attendance on Saturday.
Holbrook and District Race Club president Susie Finlay was “so happy” with the day.
“The fashion was fabulous, everyone went to an amazing amount of trouble,” she said.
The day was up 300 people on last year which Mrs Finlay believes was partially due to the good weather.
“It’s the best one we’ve ever had,” she said.
“The place looked magical and everyone was there to have one big party.”
While money from previous races has been donated to a charity this year’s profit will go into maintenance around the racecourse.
Fashion on the field results:
- Most elegant lady: Bridie Heriot
- Miss racegoer: Helen Geddes
- Most fashionable man: Jochem Heijsl
- Best Hat: Lianne Rodd
