Young people led the way at The Rock when it came to organising their youth week event on Friday night.
The pop-up movie night saw more than 80 young people attend along with their families.
The night was organised by a group of students from The Rock Central School from years seven to 12.
“Youth week events are organised by young people for young people in the community,” Lockhart Shire youth services development officer Susan Kane said.
“I was just so proud of them and the way they worked.”
Students got there early to help set up, but their efforts didn’t end there.
Many also stayed back late to clean the venue.
The night started with a performance by an acapella group before the movie was screened.
A pop-up movie event was also held in Holbrook at the Holbrook submarine park on Monday night.
Henty’s new skate park will be utilised for the third youth week event in the region.
Totem Skating will be running lessons at the park on Monday April 18 from 10am until 2pm.
Special prizes will be on offer for all entrants in the competition including shoes and accessories.
A free barbecue lunch and drinks will be provided.
