Tai Chi classes will give Lockhart residents the chance to participate in gentle exercise.
Increasing access to safe physical activity opportunities is a top priority in Lockhart.
Tai Chi classes are starting up on Mondays at the Uniting Church Hall.
Volunteer instructor Larraine Hoffman will teach the beginner class at 9am and the advanced class at 9.45am.
Ms Hoffman was trained by the NSW Ministry of Health.
“Tai Chi is excellent for increasing balance and flexibility, strength and fitness which are important in preventing falls,” Ms Hoffman said.
“It is an exciting opportunity for older adults to have fun, be fit and get healthy.”
The idea behind Tai Chi is to improve the physical, social and mental wellbeing of local people of any age.
