Our Branch held the first meeting for the year at "Hill Top" Carer's Accommodation. We were pleased to welcome a new member Bev McLellan, and visitor Margaret McMaster, Jindera Branch who had suggested previously our helping with cooking some slices for the clientele at "Hill Top" and also organised our visit there.
All members enjoyed being shown through this wonderful facility, which is so helpful to those who need it. The clients appreciate the home cooking to have with a cuppa.
We will be organising a couple of lots of goodies to be delivered each month until August, when Jindera Branch will take over until the end of the year.
The Calendar for the year was handed out to everyone, as well as reminders to all the Land Cookery winners for last year on what they had to cook for Land Cookery Day, which is to be held in conjunction with Handicraft Day on March 14 at Galore.
Our entry was organised for the Henty Show, whilst Lyn Jacobsen and Bev Frohling will represent us at the coming Group Council Meeting to be held at Euberta on March 7.
Our 80th Birthday is coming up and time has been spent going back over old minutes - it's amazing how much the Branch has achieved over that time. Arrangements are being organised for our birthday celebrations, to be held in April. Our invitations are also being finalised.
The Branch will be writing a submission about our not wanting the amalgamation of the Lockhart Shire in with the Urana and Corowa Shires.
Next meeting: Henty at the Library, Wednesday March 9, 10.30am. Members are asked to bring any memorabilia they have of the Branch for our Birthday Celebrations.
