This launch by Sony Music and Alberts will be one week before the official worldwide release and while the band members will not be present, for avid fans this will be their opportunity to be among the first people in the world to hear AC/DC’s new album.
Lockhart Shire Council’s Tourism and Economic Development officer, Jennifer Connor was thrilled to learn Sony Music and Alberts had chosen The Rock for the launch venue.
“I’m absolutely delighted to work with Sony to bring this iconic event to The Rock,” Ms Connor said.
“It’s fantastic for the town, the Lockhart Shire and indeed the Riverina.
“The AC/DC ‘Rock or Bust’ markets will be a one-off event that will put The Rock on the international map for an impressive worldwide fan base but more than that it offers our locals an amazing day out.
“This will be a day to remember and The Rock Progress Association , who host the markets, are ensuring there will be plenty to see and do for young and old alike.
“The Avenue in The Rock’s main street is definitely the place to be on Sunday November 23.”
The Rock Markets open at 8am and pre-orders for the album can be made between noon and 2pm. A range of AC/DC merchandise will also be available for purchase.
It is believed the band will be embarking on a world tour in honour of ‘Rock or Bust’ and their 40th anniversary.
