Police allege a 47-year-old man was assaulted while being held against his will over a 24-hour period at the pair’s home in September.
The alleged victim was later airlifted to Sydney where he underwent surgery for serious head injuries.
Nikia Bamblett, 23, and Hunter Green, 28, are charged with domestic-related special aggravated kidnapping and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Both Bamblett and Green did not apply for bail when their cases were mentioned in less than two minutes at Wagga Local Court on Thursday.
Bamblett appeared in person while Green’s solicitor told the court he did require him to be present.
Charge sheets tendered to the court state the victim was detained with intentions of obtaining information about stolen property and psychological gratification.
The man was discovered at the home on September 19 by a witness and taken to Wagga’s Rural Referral Hospital.
He was later airlifted to St George Hospital in Sydney where he underwent surgery for serious head injuries.
When the man returned to Wagga Rural Referral Hospital the matter was reported to police and an investigation commenced.
The pair were arrested around 9.10am at Wagga on Wednesday.
A brief of evidence will be served on both Bamblett’s and Green’s solicitors by December 24.
They will next appear in Wagga Local Court on January 18.
Both parties can still make a bail application before their next appearance.
