Having started her venture more than eight years ago, Ms Tucker is now being rewarded for her hard work as a top 10 finalist for the Regional Online Heroes Award.
The Rock’s Jo Palmer is also among the finalists, for Pointer Remote Role, an online matchmaking platform helping employees find the best person to fill a vacant role, regardless of location.
The platform aims to assist small businesses or individuals to find contractors to complete small jobs or contracts, rather than having to recruit full-time staff.
Ms Tucker launched Erilan Mastectomy Collection, a physical and online store fitting and supplying prosthesis, lingerie and clothing for women who have undergone breast surgery, to reach women in the area after experiencing her own battle.
With a good support person and a positive attitude, Ms Tucker said anything is possible.
“I’m a 61-year-old woman who grew up in the non-technological age and wasn’t overly computer savvy,” she said.
“It is doable – don’t be afraid – you can’t let anything be a barrier.”
Ms Tucker said it had been a big learning curve to watch the internet break down geographical borders.
“I find when I send something to remote areas it’s very rewarding,” she said.
“If I was a woman in an area like that I would be thinking about what to do, it’s about building those relationships.”
Ms Tucker told The Daily Advertiser she already felt as if she has won after being named as a finalist.
“The more people who know about me the more I can help other women,” she said.
“It authenticates you and makes you think yes, I am capable of this.”
A winner will be announced on December 4.
