IT WOULD appear that from comments heard around Henty that snakes are prevalent this year. Three snakes in one yard and the loss of a pet, snakes in Sweetwater Village and a mating pair (of snakes) being fatally interrupted. Quite a few comments from farmers of sightings; it could be a bad year for snakes.

Heard, by a couple of residents in south-west Henty, were the sounds of brolga. This is encouraging for a good bird watching season. Also seen, is a very rare sighting of the red-headed honey eater. The bird, possibly a pair, may still be in Henty as it appears to have been feeding in Henty for the past week.
