TWO surprises were in store for selected members of the Henty Men’s Shed at their recent AGM. President Russell Davies summed up the shed’s activities over the past 12 months and mentioned some of the planned activities for the coming year. During the commentary Russell presented John Ebsworth with life membership for the work he had done for the shed since its inception. In turn, and unaware to Russell, Neil Meyer presented Russell with his own life membership. Both members were presented with a framed certificate and Russell with a badge.

THE Henty & District Historical Society has had a request from Geoff Haddon of Wagga seeking information on relative of his from the past. He is seeking information on the Pratt family and the extended relations. These include: Margaret Geue (nee Wundersitz), who taught at St Paul’s School in Henty in the 1950s. We know she had her 21st birthday party in Henty. We have traced, to some extent, Travis Crowe, station master at the Yerong Creek Station in the 1950s and early 1960s and was known as Tom Crowe. If anybody can add to the lifetimes of these individuals in the district, please post notes care of the Henty & District Historical Society: 14 Sladen Street, Henty.

HENTY’S Main Street is starting to show signs of its potential with the perimeter of the round-a-bout looking most presentable. There has been some inconvenience for both vehicles and pedestrians, however, Henty should have one of the most enviable streetscapes in the Riverina.

RECYLING paper in Henty has not stopped and paper can be deposited at the council yard in Smith Street. It is hoped that a load can be sent to the Mill shortly.
