HENTY Lions met Wednesday fortnight ago to induct their latest member, Ken Dale. Ken had had a number of guests on his table to witness his induction. One of lions Charter members, Ed Dale was in attendance. Lions were presented with their Charter 28th September, 1977, 40 years ago. Looks like a celebration of servicing the community is due.

EVEN though the weather has not been the best for construction work, Henty’s main street is coming along quickly. With the round-a-bout, the drains and gutters now almost finished on the southern aspect of Sladen Street, it would appear all work may well be completed before this year’s Henty Machinery Field Days.
HENTY’S Historical Society is about half way through recording Henty’s involvement in WWI. The society are up to 800 pages of information, pictures and documents. They are still seeking anyone will family portraits from 1914 to 1919 with a war or AIF/RAF/RAN reference and any memorabilia or medals that have been issued to our returning soldiers, for photographing.
THOSE pencils in the front of the Henty Public School sure are a stand out feature. Colourful and appropriately themed. It’s good to see activities that promote thought and study.
LIONS Club have taken over Rotary’s paper recycling facilities and residents of the Henty District are asked to support the recycling project. Recycling shed is located at the front of the council yard in Smith Street.
ORGANISERS for the Spirit of the Land Festival annual art awards have issued a call out for local artists to submit their work in the following categories: Fine Arts Painting; Open Section; Indigenous works and Photography and of course; National Farm Art Sculpture. Email margieschirmer@gmail.com.
