DURING an era when changing careers quicker than having birthdays is the norm, one Henty resident is notching up 40 years’ service.

Residents would recognise the knowledgeable smile of Kim Poole who works at the town’s IGA store.

The store, owned by Mary and Les Dale, has been known by different names over the years but the essence has always been the same.

“You get to know the customers and you see their children and grandchildren,” said Mrs Poole.

And it is a role she enjoys and plans to keep doing into the future. “As long as I am needed, I will be there for them,” she said.

“These are the same people I have worked for all of these years.”
