Last Thursday 10 ladies played for the second round of the President’s Trophy in very heavy fog until lunch time.
The winner of the day was Kathy Maloney with 40 points. What a great round of golf Kathy had.
NTP on the 13th Alison Campbell. NTP on the 8th 2nd shot was no other than Kathy Maloney.
Newsagency award went to June Bahr. Two ladies played nine holes and they had a draw. The play of the day had to go to Heather Beattie. Heather played nine holes with a score of two points on each hole. Easy to count up the score!!
On the 12th Sandy Newton and Carole Singe had “divine intervention". Sandy's ball duck dived onto the dam and came out again. Bet you couldn't do that again.
Jane Yates lost her first new ball on the 8th. Straight up in the air and plop into the dam.
Ellen Pratt and Connie Ross completed 18 holes too. Well done ladies.
The action of the day had to go to Sandy Newton and Carole Singe.
On the sixth Sandy hit a good drive and there was a lovely black crow watching on. Sandy has a bright pink ball . The crow swooped, got the ball and headed off. The girls took off in the cart after the crow. After a lot of yelling and arms waving the crow just headed for the swamp. And that was a new ball too.
After golf the CWA Evening Group had a Biggest Morning Tea. Twenty two ladies were there and $413 was raised. Thanks to Heather Edwards and friends for a lovely afternoon tea.
