They had to overcome a half-time deficit of 13 points and a tenacious home side to eventually take control with a dominant second half.
Leading by five points at the last change, Holbrook wrapped the match up with three early goals before holding off two late goals from Lockhart.
Alec Sullivan, Josh Jones and Curtis Steele dominated in the middle, while Brad Carman, Charlie White and Dylan Fairall played excellent games.
For Lockhart, former North Albury star Jordan Harrington was outstanding, along with Zachary Sheather in the ruck, and Matt Endrez.
Holbrook take on CDHBU at home this week, with the visitors also having won its last two matches.
CDHBU Brad Talbot will play his 300th match for the visitors.

OSBORNE has moved to outright ladder leadership following a super impressive win over Jindera at Jindera winning by 29 points.
The match was in the balance in the first three quarters with less than a goal being the margin at each break in a high standard encounter.
The visitor’s composure with the ball and more precise delivery was a feature of its six goal final term with Connor Galvin the star up forward with six goals for the match.
Andrew Johnston wound back the clock with a powerful display up forward for Osborne, with Sam Rutland and Marty Bahr also in the thick of the action.
Tim Darcy and Sam Myors were easily best for Jindera, while former Holbrook junior Harrison Weaven made an impressive debut.

CDHBU Coach Jeremy Stevenson kicked a 45 metre goal from a tight angle after the siren to sink Culcairn by three points at Coreen.
Stevenson was mobbed by jubilant teammates and supporters as his kick just carried the journey in a dramatic finish to a thrilling match.
Culcairn who trailed by 15 points at the last change looked set to steal the win after kicking the only three goals of the final term.
Former Fijian rugby union star Moses Baleidrokadroka put Culcairn in front with five minutes remaining for the first time in the entire game.
Culcairn has a huge match this week, when they take on Murray Magpies – both teams are locked on four wins each in a hotly contested go for the top six.

HENTY grabbed some valuable percentage with a big win over the Billabong Crows at Urana by a commanding 96 points.
James Breen took over the lead on the goal kicking table with nine goals to give him a four goal break on RWW star Myles Aalbers.
The Crows who lost non-playing coach Danny Stevens during the week due to work commitments, tried hard through a four goal effort from Dan Finch.
The Swampies though had all the answers with their speedy movement of the ball and excellent delivery up forward being the highlight.
Henty, with a home game against winless Lockhart this week, should entrench themselves inside the top six and still with hopes of the double chance.

MURRAY Magpies and Rand Walbundrie Walla Giants played one of the games of the season at Urana Road Oval in Lavington.
The Magpies got home courtesy of a long range goal on the run from Trent Logue to seal a heart stopping three-point win.
Just minutes before Todd Miller had landed his eighth goal for the match, to put the Giants back in front, before Logue sealed the deal in a scintillating game of football.
The game literally went goal for goal with the margins at the breaks being one point, four points and three points. The loss was a big blow for the visitor’s finals aspirations.
Burly Giants forward Brett Davies again starred in the curtain raiser with eight goals, but fitting the big man into the already star studded forward set up is the challenge.
Miller was best afield with his eight goals, closely followed by Ryan Lavery.
The Magpies’ best were Shannon Gilson, Daniel Maher and Hayden Edwards.

BROCK Burrum Saints made a timely return to form, to completely outclass Howlong.
The Saints doubled the Spiders score to win by 61 points at Brocklesby.
Inspired by veteran club stalwart Sam O’Connor playing his 200th match earlier in the day, the Saints looked every bit a two time defending premier.
Justin Koschitzke landed six goals in his fourth match for the Saints, while Aidan Johnson again impressed with three goals.
Darcy IÁnson played a blinder for the Saints and got great support from former Coach Luke Brauer and Shannon Boers.
Howlong lost all four quarters and if it was not for the terrific contributions of Peter Hancock and Joe Pargeter the margin could have been a lot more.
The Spiders after winning its first five games has now lost its last two and has a huge task ahead this week at home to second placed Jindera.
