THERE has been progress with the Australian Dung Beetle Project Mark II, a further 12 species were recommended. Ten are Mediterranean/temperate species and two species are of Mexican origin. The Project (Mark II) has snowballed and looks set to attract Commonwealth funds and in-kind support from research partners. The release of these further species will benefit farms running stock, improving their soil profiles and as a bonus, an overall reduction in number of Aussie flies.

HENTY Bowling Club will be the scene of a charitable bowls night for the benefit of cancer research. Henty Local Health Advisory Committee are inviting all to support research via an information night, which will also include social bowls, at Henty’s Community Club from 6.30pm on Friday, April 28 with Dr Radwan Al-Musawy. A question and answer session will follow. Bowls are tentatively set to follow at 7pm. Attendees are encouraged to gather six to eight friends to enjoy a social game of bowls. AMONG the upsetting catastrophe of losing a home to fire in Henty very recently, it was encouraging to note that no one was injured and hope that the family concerned make a quick recovery of their current situation.

HENTY Lions are currently looking at recruiting community spirited people, individuals or couples of all ages to join their ranks in servicing their community. Ken Shiels has stated that the club is looking to grow and have inducted two new members this current year.
