Bruce Rayner won 17 to 14 in a very close game, Shane Lennon lost 14 to 20 after leading early and Jason Healy lost 12 to 20
Lockhart will play RSL at Junee on May 6 in the elimination final. This will afford Lockhart to have a bye next week and hopefully perform strongly at Junee.
In the singles club championship, Shane Lennon had a runaway win over Bruce Rayner 31 to 7. Barry Love beat Max Montgomery in a tight finish. Lennon will be up against Love in the final.
Best of luck to all bowlers taking part in the championships with some surprises predicted.
Henty Women’s Golf
LAST Thursday had seven 18-hole players and three nine-hole players on a very warm autumn day in dusty, dry conditions.
It was great to see back to the club Connie Ross and she hit the ball great too.
It was golf course improvement day and the winner was on CB Linda Coombes with a 63 nett. Linda was on fire with a couple of pars and three big gobblers.
The NTP on the 7th was Alison, but only by half-a-foot, according to Jane! We also had a putting competition and Kathy Maloney won with 23 putts.
After the first couple of holes Alison and Sandy realised they had forgotten to count their putts, but at the end of the day it didn’t matter as they were at the other end of winning the comp.
The winner of the nine-hole was jointly done by Ellen and Connie, with Ellen winning the Newsagency Award and Connie winning the NTP.
Next Thursday is the first round of the Presidents Trophy at 9am for 9.30am tee off and the nine-hole players will tee off at 10am.
