HENTY’S St Barnabas’s Anglican Church congregation celebrated its centenary last Sunday. A gathering of near 100 people attended a service followed by a dinner. The foundation stone was laid down on February 14, 1917. Officiating was Father Bob Done with Rt Reverend R Gillion, Bishop of Riverina providing the sermon. Other dignitaries were Rev Michael Moulder; Rev. Colin Wellard; Rev. Ken Day and Rev Bill Ginns. The anniversary cake was cut by Arthur Cochrane and Elizabeth Dale. The function was held in the Blue Room at Henty’s Community Club and by all reports was a thoroughly enjoyable get-together with plenty of food.

HENTY Public School have their 2017 version of their school band up and going. Their progression is being videotaped which will be most important for the school’s the respective band members and their teachers’ history. It has been good to see the students trying their hardest at the regional shopping centres previously and I hope someone is again capturing them at their best.

ST PAUL’S School is encouraging their students to initiate random act of kindness and then record these acts on The Random Acts of Kindness Board. This is a very positive act to bring into school. A few of the older students are to build three marble runs, each having different speeds.
St Paul’s is one of two groups catering for the up-and coming 4WD and Camping Show. Let’s hope this show will provide other opportunities.
