HENTY’S 2017 Show had significantly lower numbers attending than they did the previous year. This however, did not detract from the fun and their over-the-top MC, Steve Bowen. Steve kept the crowd entertained and rarely did he stand still, constantly moving around the various stands and promoting activities. MP Sussan Ley made an appearance and was able to meet and greet a relatively large number of people, spending half the day in Henty. There were many opportunities to catch up with family and friends. The weather which threatened to roast everyone held off till later in the afternoon making it an enjoyable experience. It was pleasing to see the number of children enjoying the rides, cooling ice blocks and drinks and as far as they were concerned, the show was a great experience.

Nick Bedggood deserves a special mention for his individual effort at this year’s Henty Show. He had a few entries in the motor vehicle/cycle competition and each entry required a trip home to collect and deliver to the show. The obvious thing to note here is the return of each also necessitated another trip home - 10 in all.

HENTY Public School have a tentative booking for the Year 6 Peer Support Camp. This will involve a one night sleepover at the Great Aussie Resort with most meals provided. The Peer Support Camp involves two days of training whereby the students are tutored in the skills required to lead Peer Support lessons to a Kinder – Year 5 cohort next term. The time away also provides the students with an opportunity to bond as a Year 6 group.
