The Rock SES were called to assist the group of eight people, including four children, on Wednesday September 21.
Three members of The Rock SES, one Wagga member and two police officers were involved with the rescue which resulted in the SES vehicle also getting bogged.
SES volunteers were forced to walk for four kilometres to get to the group.
They got them out of the reserve safely but the five vehicles had to be left until the conditions clear up.
Earlier in the week The Rock unit were called to a large animal rescue in Yerong Creek.
A horse had gotten its leg tangled in a fence and was unable to move. It took the volunteers an hour-and-a-half to free the animal.
