TWO ex-Henty Public School students were elected to top positions at Billabong High School – Ellen Liston as captain and Emily Jones as vice-captain.

WHITLOCK’S auction had many a collector looking for prized pieces. Of particular interest were the Furphy related items. The Shippard wagon, one of the two wagons offered for sale at the auction, is staying in Henty. The other is off to Lake Cargelligo. Around 150 people attended the sale.

THE swamp is filling slowly with a variety of bird life returning. Although more rain is required to fill the swamp, we could do with a sunny holiday.

IT WAS not surprising to see a good gathering at the Bucki Fire Shed when the calls went out for volunteers to bag sand during the recent minor floods. Although the bags prepared are yet to be used, these are ready should they be required in an emergency.

MORE blocks of land are to be made available in Henty once the subdivision of the corner block behind the Community Club has taken place. The surveyor’s pegs are in, marking the individual blocks.
