The second day of the show sees the open competition day where sheep are judged in breed categories.
Stud sheep from across the state were stood alongside school sheep for the judging.
The Holbrook Sheep and Wool Fair runs for three days and attracts schools from across NSW and Victoria.
Wednesday saw almost 20 students from 11 schools rotate through a series of workshops.
Many of the students who attend the first day are new to the sheep showing scene.
“The kids were thrilled with the workshop,” fair organiser Rita Bowler said.
Students were able to learn about judging meat sheep and fleeces, how to handle sheep in the show ring, participate in working sheep dog demonstrations and were able to view an autopsy on lambs to learn about mortality rates.
Friday will see the final competition for meat sheep and junior judges will compete for a place at the Royal Easter Show next year.
