“The mood was great,” Lockhart Shire Council mayor Peter Yates said.
“There was plenty of cheering after the speeches.”
The council put the barbecue on for the community at Walter Day Park in Lockhart on Sunday.
“It was to thank individuals and community groups who supported the council,” Mr Yates said.
“It was a real social occasion to celebrate the longevity of the Lockhart. The mood around the shire is really optimistic.”
