Henty Ladies
EIGHT ladies played golf last Thursday for the second round of the President's Trophy and the Golf Course Improvement Award.
Alison Campbell was the winner of both awards with 39 points.
All the other ladies were 32 points and under.
NTP on the 7th Alison Campbell.
NTP on the 15th Kathy Maloney.
The Newsagency Award went to Glenys Yates because Glenys had all the gear but no idea!
Out on the course it was certainly Alison Campbell's day.
Alison had the shot of the year, not just the shot of the day.
Alison's second shot on the 9th landed right under the big pine bush. The only way out was to give it a very large whack.
She did and off it went. Hit the pin on the 9th green, bent the pin and landed into the hole for a birdie. Well done Alison. Col Barrett saw it and was dumbfounded!
The crows have finally arrived on to the course. Jane Yates lost two balls and Kathy Maloney one. But the crow didn't take Marilyn Broughan's ball.
Marilyn did a war dance and war cry. The crow got such a fright it just flew away.
Quite a few ladies found the water on the course. It is not the same course as it was three weeks ago.
The pennant ladies had another hard day at the office. But Sandy Newton has carried on from last year and won her match.
Next Monday is at Thurgoona against Howlong. Good luck girls.
Henty's tournament is on June 2 and it is a Canadian event.
Next Thursday is the Biggest Morning Tea at the club before golf. It is at 9 m until 10.30 am. Everyone is welcome. Please try to support it .
The golf competition for next week is stroke and putting. But most important it is the Barossa Trophy. So see you all in the club house at 9am.
