The Greater Hume Shire Council are writting to the Roads and Maritime Services to request a change to the speed limit to 50 km/h.

Roads which are set to change include Sarah Street, Klara Court and Charles Street with all other street set at 80 km/h.

The proposed changes were first hightlights in October 2014.

During community consulation 58 letters were sent out to residents and ratepayers in the area.

Respondents were asked to select one of three speed zone options – 50 km/h, 80 km/h or 100 km/h and an opportunity to add further comments was included on the survey form. 

A total of 34 responses were recieved with 23 agreeing 50 km/h is an appropirate speed, eight thought 80 km/h was appropriate, one selected 100 km/h while two chose different speed limits.
