Osborne young gun Nick Perryman made his maiden century in Holbrook District Cricket Association finishing with 105 not out at stumps.
His brilliant innings played a huge part in the win by Osborne over The Rock Yerong Creek at Victoria Park, The Rock last Saturday.
It has continued what has already been a highly successful start to the 2013/14 season by Perryman and his younger brother Harry.
Both Perryman boys will be representing Riverina in the NSW Country under 17 champions in Raymond Terrace.
Nick will open the bat and Harry who is still just 14 years old is the team’s wicketkeeper. The Riverina side are the defending champions from last year.
TRYC made a competitive total off its forty overs with Wade Murphy (59) showing some good early form, while Todd Hannam made (24). Andrew Madden claimed 4/20 for Osborne.
Osborne led by the Perryman boys racked up 2/202 with Harry chipping in with (47) to rocket Osborne to top place on the ladder.
The replay of last year’s grand final was a thriller at the Henty Showground with Culcairn getting up by just one run to reverse the result of last year’s decider.
In a low scoring game dominated by the bowlers it was the experience and poise of Culcairn all-rounder Brad Ravenna who got the Lions home.
Ravenna was able to make (30) as wickets tumbled around him as Chris Manns and Chris Spicer both took four wickets each for Henty.
Nathan Ferrell 3/11 and skipper Norm Barlow 3/13 did the damage as Henty were bowled out for 75 in a rusty start for all batsmen.
Both Culcairn and Henty will be without two of its stars from recent years, with Grant Forrest playing in Wagga and Steve Brand not playing this year. Holbrook had the bye.
Rand continue winning streak
Rand has continued on from its unbeaten premiership season of 2012/13 by winning its first two games of the 2013/14 season.
James Kreutzberger (37) and Will Swift (31no) led the way as Rand posted 9/147 off its thirty five overs. Matt Beale and Tyson Moloney took two wickets each for Oaklands.
In reply Oaklands never threatened with only Phil Jones (33) making an impact. Clinton Ralston was the star for rand taking 4/19 as Oaklands were out for 108.
David Williams (63) led Burrumbuttock to a convincing win over Walla by ninety runs. The Swans posted 8/160 with young Alex Paech taking three wickets for Walla.
Williams completed a great match by then taking 5/11 as Walla only had three batsmen make double figures being bowled out for seventy.
Balldale flexed its muscle in the other game bludgeoning 2/207 against Brocklesby, with Matt Ross (73) and Pat Mitchell (69no).
Brocklesby set about its huge run chase poorly losing both openers early before Mitch Koschitzke (60) provided resistance as the Roos finished on 5/144.
