Dr Mobilia cannot possess, prescribe, supply, dispense or administer any drug of addiction or any prescribed restricted substances.
The temporary ban covers drugs listed as Schedule 4 and 8 drugs in the Commonwealth’s Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act.
According to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) website, Dr Mobilia has had the conditions imposed on him by the NSW Medical Council.
It says the NSW Medical Council “considered it appropriate” to impose the conditions for the “protection of the health and safety of any person or persons, or is satisfied that action is otherwise in the public interest.”
AHPRA further states the ban will exist until the matter is “disposed of” or the Medical Council removes the conditions.
The matter has been referred the health care complaints commission.
The NSW Medical Council conducts a Section 150 confidential hearing after an issue is brought to its attention by, for example, other doctors, patients or pharmaceutical services.
Section 150 hearings decide if it’s appropriate to place conditions on a doctor or suspend him/her pending further investigation.
Details of Dr Mobilia’s restrictions are available on the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency website.
Dr Mobilia declined to comment when contacted by the Eastern Riverina Chronicle on Monday.
