Swimming at Holbrook

Records were smashed and Mackeller was the winning house accumulating 313 points followed by Lawson and Paterson at the Holbrook Public School’s swimming carnival.

Records were broken by two students Chloe Last and Hugh Locke. Chloe broke Eilish Thompson’s record in the 11 years girls 33m breaststroke with a new time of 37.09. Hugh broke his brother Nicholas’s record in the junior boys individual medley (new time 5.11.14) and his own earlier record in the junior boys 66m breast stroke (1.16.97).

The school’s 2008 swimming champions are: junior girl champion Leneen Marshall, junior boy Hugh Locke, runners-up Alyce Parker and Matt Lyons; 11 year champions Jessica Winnett and Harry Dowling, runners-up Isabelle Allworth and Lachlan Emerson; senior champions Anna Tuck and Rory Marshall, runners-up Stephanie Slattery and Daniel Cooper.

Among students representing the school at the Zone carnival at Henty on Friday are Austin Todd, Jackson Gibbs, Tayla McCallum, Sarah Bahr-Withers, Claudia Allworth, Hunter Martin, Mimi Trescowthick, Matthew Lyons, Daniel Cooper, Mark Gammage, Jessica Todd, Harry Nunn, Takysha Brennan, Kristy Cooper, James Papworth, and Caitlyn Lyons.
