Osborne Coach Graham Hart completed a fairytale finish to his four year coaching stint at Osborne when his well drilled side overcame a defiant Jindera by 36 points at Walbundrie.
Hart, who announced his retirement from football following the well deserved win, leaves the club with two wins from his four grand final appearances since joining the cats in 2006.
The win reversed the result of last years decider and made it Osborne’s 11th premiership in the last nineteen years, a remarkable record that would not be matched anywhere in country football.
The Cats on the back of a six goal effort from star forward Brendan McKelvie won a high standard final 15 - 16 -106 to Jindera 9 - 14 - 68 with rising star Djali Bloomfield best afield.
Bloomfield was awarded the Des Kennedy Medal for best on ground after a scintillating display in the midfield, in particular the first three quarters.
Osborne started well but failed to convert their dominance on the scoreboard, kicking only three goals from its ten scoring opportunities, while keeping Jindera to one goal and two behinds.
The Bulldogs defied the trend in the second term and fought back very gamely, with skipper Aaron Lezius, Brad Preston and Bryce Scott leading the charge.
In fact if Scott had of converted a set shot in the final minute of the second term, it would have seen his team draw level at half time instead of a five point deficit.
The third term - often dubbed the premiership quarter certainly proved correct on this occasion with Osborne taking full control, with McKelvie on fire kicking three goals for the term.
Ant Armstrong, Tom O’Connell, Matt Clarke and Jamie Parr were outstanding in this phase of play, while veteran Kerry Bahr and the speedy Matt Bradley gaining heaps of possession.
The final term commenced with Osborne holding a six goal advantage and set to run home easy winners, however Jindera with Tom Wellington booting three goals up forward mounted one final charge.
The Bulldogs despite a mountain of possession could not get the margin under three goals despite many attempts and the Cats finished in style to run out the game deserving winners.
