Despite the rain playing havoc with two of the three Division one matches, a cameo appearance from current St Kilda AFL star Adam Schneider highlighted the completion of round nine.
The former Sydney Swan premiership player and three times Osborne premiership star, made an impact, compiling a stylish (36) to top score for Osborne in their loss to Henty.
Henty remain unbeaten with Osborne falling well short of the Swampies mammoth day one first innings total of 9/350. The Cats were bowled out for 140.
Shannon Terlich maintained his wonderful form with the ball, by claiming another five wicket haul and putting himself well ahead in the association bowling aggregate.
Schneider along with Darren Howard who played alongside Schneider in his three football premierships at Osborne, also made (36). Stephen Doig (22) and Jeremy Bahr (19) contributed as well.
However once the second wicket stand was broken, the Cats collapsed badly losing its final nine wickets for just forty six runs. Dylan Hore claimed three late wickets for Henty.
Both turf wickets at Holbrook and Yerong Creek were saturated with the much needed rain, however the match on synthetic wickets at Henty went ahead.
The game at Yerong Creek was delicately poised with the home team making 201 on day one, with Holbrook having the incentive of a home final if they had of chased successfully.
TRYC will now take a handy five point buffer over Holbrook going into the final two day game, with Holbrook now having to cause an upset over Henty to jump ahead of the Two Blues.
Culcairn who had claimed first innings points last week on day against Holbrook Colts will finish second behind Henty and will have a tough encounter at home to TRYC.
He top four is set in place going into the final round, with the only possible change being the chance Holbrook could overtake TRYC and grab a home final by finishing third.
The battle for finals places in the Division two is interesting with Uranquinty (1st) well out in front, followed by Lockhart, just one point ahead of Holbrook.
The battle for fourth place is between the two Henty sides with Culcairn unlikely to make the finals currently sitting at the bottom.
The Division two competition has just two one day games left, with Uranquinty being the dominant side all year and looking very hard to beat.
