Continuing project for Henty Public School

18 Jan, 2012 08:40 AM
Henty Public School will be continuing its involvement with the Fiveways Reserve Habitat Restoration Project in 2012 thanks to a grant of $20,000 from the Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority (CMA).

The restoration of the remnant grassy woodland and former stock reserve has been a project for Henty Public School since 2007.

The grant will enable a number of goals to be achieved including the finalisation and implementation of a concept plan, the construction of walking tracks, and building of a shed on the site and the installation of a water tank.

Altogether 23 different projects across the Murrumbidgee have benefited from the Community Partnership grants many of them being schools and early learning centres.

Mr Lee O’Brien, Chair of the Murrumbidgee CMA said, “It (the Community Partnerships Program) provides opportunities for local community organisations to address local issues of conservation, environment and sustainable land management.”
